Spring is right around the corner. I'm so happy. Today is bright and sunny, 54 degrees. We did Bible, Geography and Math. Then I canceled school because of sun!
The big kids and I cleaned out the Toddler Playhouse on the patio. We marveled at how many different kinds of spiders, pill bugs and pincher bugs can all inhabit the same space (is that science?). There was a big black spider with odd spots in the telephone holder. Actually, he's still there. He's more ugly than I am brave. I just told the girls not to touch him.
Olivia and Leah spent some time in the little house playing with plastic dishes and plastic food. Leah was the Mommy and Olivia was the Baby. Then Hannah joined the fun and got to be the Big Sister. Nathan refused to participate. He was off banging on trees and fences with a Nerf sword.
Baby Olivia is sick. She's been fighting something for a few days, but it seems to catch her last night. She threw up all over me, cried for a half an hour, then fell asleep. Today she is snotty and has a low temp. Poor thing.
Leah and Nathan are also fighting colds. Nathan is on the upswing today, he'll probably be fine tomorrow. Leah has another couple days, I think.
We got the good news that Hannie gets her braces off March 15th.
Mommy. Wife. Daughter of the King. My thoughts, and sometimes just a place to think 'out loud'.

Chaos...
Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Things here have been topsy-turvy. We decided to regrout our entryway. Michael finally finished getting all the old grout out on Monday, and now there is a lovely, thick layer of dust EVERYWHERE. But now that it's out, I can wipe everything down and be done with it. Now to get the new grout in and the entryway back to normal.
Plus, we decided that we're ready to repaint the main living area, but we can't find a color we love. The walls in the entryway and living room have splotches of at least 8 different colors and it looks horrible! But Michael brought home some more samples last night and they look great on the little cards. I hope to paint some more splotches today to see if this is, at last, the right color...
Plus, we decided also to recarpet the house. We have narrowed the carpet colors down to 2: Evening Reflection (which is a sort of caramel-gold color) and Milk and Cookies (which is slightly greenish). We don't want to order the carpet until we've decided on the paint. See paragraph 2 for that dilemma...
So, in summary, my spring cleaning of the living room went cattywampus. I hope to have everything back together by Easter. please...

The Living Room Again
Okay, so I made some more progress. I've gone thru all the CD's, cleared out the bookshelves and wiped the top half of the woodwork down. Put a few books out in a decorative sort of fashion. And I cleaned the piano keys.
Now to tackle the lower half of the entertainment center...

It's coming along...
Just posting my progress on the Great Living Room Cleanup...
Friday: got all the cobwebs down and cleaned the ceiling fan. Got a bit distracted and cleaned all the ceiling fans in the house.
Saturday: Cleaned out and organized the armoire. I had forgotten half the stuff in there...
Sunday: Planning on tackling the bookshelf.
It still doesn't look like I've done anything...

Living Room Saga
So far, I've gone thru and pulled old movies that the kids no longer watch. Then I selected a dozen or so baby toys that no one plays with and bagged those up. Then I pulled all the books off the bookshelf that don't belong there but I put there originally cuz it was handy. Unfortunately, those are tasks that no one can tell that I've done.
Next I want to pull out all those CD's behind the TV and go thru them. Then to arrange the bookshelf in some sort of 'pretty' order. By size maybe? Or by color?
I'm working on it...

It's Working, It's Working!!!
Today makes a whole....(31 plus 28 plus 5...mutter, mutter, carry the one...ah!) 65 days without soda!!! WooHoo!
To celebrate, I've decided to start my spring cleaning early. I usually wait till the 20th, but why wait? So I'm going to start a poll and you, my loyal readers, get to choose which room I start on! Isn't that exciting! So go vote before Monday noon. I want to get started Monday afternoon.
