Paper Bag Turkey

The first time I heard this recipe, I thought the teller was nuts. Really. You will too. But I promise, it's the best turkey ever. And it CAN NOT get any easier to bake a turkey. Promise.

I've only tried this with turkey that were 16-20 pounds. For bigger or smaller birds, increase or decrease the cooking time per temperature. Also, I hate stuffing, so I've never made a turkey with stuffing in it. Adjust time accordingly if you stuff your bird. Ready? Here it is...

Take a paper grocery bag. Dump in some cooking oil. Take a wad of paper towels and rub the oil into the bag. All over. Every bit of bag must be soaked with oil. Put cleaned, unseasoned bird in the bag. Yes, that's right - NO SEASONINGS!! Roll up open end of bag, place in your roaster, shove on the lid. Cook at 500* for 1 hour, then 400* for 1 hour, then 300* for one hour. Remove from oven, tear off paper bag from around turkey. Presto! Perfectly browned, yummy turkey.

No seasonings, no basting, only 3 hours. You're gonna love it!!!
