I've started a ladies bible study at church every other Tuesday morning. Childcare is provided (free!!) - what a blessing!
The study is out of the book Putting On A Gentle & Quiet Spirit, by Elizabeth George. It is a study of 1 Peter.
This week was the introduction of the time period the scripture was written, along with some definitions of Quiet and Gentle. Get this:
Gentle: (or Meek) means not creating disturbances.
Quiet: means bearing with tranquility the disturbances caused by others.
Ouch. Am I the only one convicted here? How many times have I told the children to mind their own? That no matter what anyone else did, we are responsible for our own responses.
This is going to be quite a study, I can tell.
